Join Julie Weatherhead – author of Australian Native Food Harvest – a guide for the passionate cook and garden in the schoolhouse kitchen to learn some of her secrets gained from 25 years’ experience in cooking with native foods. Find out how to incorporate these wonderful flavours into your everyday cooking. The class runs from 10.00am to 2.00pm. The class covers: A harvest tour of the native foods forest gathering the produce used in the class, learning about the health and culinary benefits of the plants, working as a team using the plants to make dishes highlighting their unique flavours and tasting all of the dishes produced. All of the dishes will be vegetarian.

ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE VACCINATED AGAINST COVID. PLEASE BRING PROOF OF VACCINATION.

Our native foods shop and nursery will be open with a wide range of native food plants and teas and spices available for purchase on the day.

  • We have limited quantities of freshly picked finger limes available-200g and 500g. PURCHASE HERE!
  • The nursery now stocks a wide range of advanced native food plants including sexed mountain peppers, strawberry gum, lemon myrtle, finger lime and anise myrtle!
  • We provide a complete native food garden design service for schools, early learning centres and community groups. We can assist with plant selection and garden design, through to supply and delivery of plants from our nursery. Our interpretive signs provide valuable information about the plants, adding to the educational value of the gardens.
